About Legacy
'Legacy' is an Ericson 35 Mk II. She was built in 1971 and has a hull number of 200. There were only about 600 of this model produced from 1969 to 1982. They were designed by Bruce King to be a racer/cruiser.

Legacy's history
Only two owners. My father purchased this Ericson in 2000 from a man in Long Beach, CA. The Ericson 35 MkII was more of a racer/cruiser than a cruiser/racer, and therefore had small tanks, so not too many got cruised very far. My father put in over $40,000 worth of upgrades into her. When he was done about 18 months later, he was delighted to have "a reasonably fast cruising boat".
Here's a list of some of the upgrades that he had made by mid 2002:
Universal diesel engine, larger-size standing rigging, removable babystay for staysail or storm jib, Profurl roller furling, replaced all the wiring and electrical panel, 315 watts worth of solar power, radar, autopilot, two GPS units, two VHFs, a super entertainment center, upholstery (which he again replaced in 2011 with high end automotive vinyl), 30 gallons more water and 16 gallons more fuel.
He replaced the stove in 2005.
